Blog Submission Guidelines

GradeCam is looking for guest bloggers to appear from time to time on our blog. Whether you’re a GradeCam user or an expert on an educational topic, our guidelines for submission are outlined below.

Are you a GradeCam User with a great story?

We would love to hear how you use GradeCam in your classroom or for your building!

Ideas for Post Topics

  • How you use GradeCam in the classroom. Each grade level and subject have unique ways they use GradeCam and we want to hear it!
  • Tips and tricks for other teachers. Maybe you found a new grading hack using GradeCam or just have a few tips you’ve found useful when navigating the software.
  • Student success and the data to back it up. Has one of your students really excelled because of your GradeCam techniques? Or, maybe you saw improvement with your whole class because of the instant data analysis GradeCam provides.
  • Answer the question: How has GradeCam made your life easier as a teacher?

What We Need

  • Article Text:  Web readers have short attention spans. Roughly 500-1000 words.
  • Author Byline: We’ll need a couple sentences of bio information such as where/what you teach and any other personal information you’d like to include.
  • Headshot Photo: This doesn’t have to be a professional photo, but a well-lit and clear photo of you from the shoulders up would be appreciated. Please submit  in .jpg or .png format.
  • Photography: Additional photography of you in the classroom is a plus but not required. Please do not submit photographs of students unless they are not facing the camera.
  • Screenshots: Feel free to include screenshots of your data if relevant. If student information is visible, it will be blurred out.

Submit your article via email to megan@gradecam.com. Please submit the text of the article in the body of the email and attach all photography/screenshots to the email.

Please Note: We may edit your submission for clarity and/or length.

We will let you know when the article is published by sending you a link via email. Feel free to share via your social media channels!

EDUCATIONAL EXPERT

Are you bursting to share your knowledge of an educational topic?

We’d love to help you spread your expertise!

What We Accept

  • Generally we are interested in articles about topics such as grading, formative assessment, education technology, or stress-relief for teachers. This is not an exhaustive list, however. Feel free to submit your article ideas as well.
  • We ask that GradeCam or it’s products are referred to in the post. An example is if the article is about exit tickets. GradeCam could be cited as a way to keep track of the data.
  • We would appreciate original and unique content.

What We Need

  • Article Text: Web readers have short attention spans. Roughly 500-1000 words.
  • Author Byline: We’ll need a couple sentences of bio information such as your educational or professional experience and any other personal information you’d like to include. We can link to your website or blog here, so don’t forget to include those URLs.
  • Headshot Photo: This doesn’t have to be a professional photo, but a well-lit and clear photo of you from the shoulders up would be appreciated. Please submit  in .jpg or .png format.
  • Stock Photography: Additional photography is a plus but not required.

Submit your article via email to megan@gradecam.com. Please submit the text of the article in the body of the email and attach all photography to the email.

You Can Expect

  • We will respond to your submission, letting you know if we are considering it for publication.
  • We may edit your submission for clarity and/or length.
  • We will let you know when the article is published by sending you a link via email.

We Would Appreciate

  • Promotion of your post on social media sites such as Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, etc.
  • Posting a link to your guest article on your own blog or website to inform your readers about your article. Please do not repost the same article to your blog or another site.
